Rusted Dreams

Journal Entry: Thu Nov 15, 2012, 6:24 AM

Okay I have decided to just submit all of my writings notes and other setting information for Rusted Dreams. A lot of this is in a jumbled state as it was created as a RP campaign that was played a while back. The Campaign is now over due to a combination of my freakish work hours (14 hours a day 15-21 shifts in a row) and the fact that every character was killed or put in prison. So I am going to submit the whole lot. Most of it needs clearing up of gramatical errors and spelling and other things like that. When and where I get time I will be fixing it as I go along but its been sitting here on my hard drive stagnating for so long I just decided why the hell not.

A bit of an explaination of the setting, its set during a post industrial age fantasy world. The world, called Stahl, featured a centuries spanning war between Light and Darkness by the Black Lord Talon - a Doom Lord who waged war against the Faith of Light and the Phelites who claimed to be gods. However Darkness prevailed and the Light was cast down. But thats where it got strange. Rather than destroy the world or worse, Lord Talon instead simply vanished. Leaving his various monsters, creations and allies in control but leaving the defeated races of Humanity and the Serhidd (Think Ottoman Empire) still intact. Time passed and an uneasy peace eventually formed the Republic of Talgraz, a union of almost every race on Stahl but still firmly under the Control of the Fiends - Talon's descendants.

Lord Talon is seen as an almost god like Messianic Figure by some and a twisted hateful demon by others.

His dissapearance had something to do with the Drak - simply described as "The Hunger".

-

This was intended to be published as a novel eventually but I dont know when or if that will happen due to the fact I am overworked and overtired.

I really need some commission artists to help me turn my ideas into pics, I have a host of reference pics lifted (Read stolen) from other settings but I really cant submit those as I dont own them. The lovely :iconepantiras: who previously put brush to canvass to give life to my ideas is sadly very busy right now.

Okay so appologies for the massive text dumps worth of ideas I will be submitting, I will also be cleaning them up as and when I get time. Do let me know what you think.

I also think that perhaps this could make a half decent video game, I may look into the possibility of this if people like what I have here. Anyway thats for later.

Finally titled as Rusted Dreams though I may change this.

Odd idea for Nazi Dwarves within setting: [link]

I've also retconned a few of my warhammer characters such as Magnus Kale, the Inquisitor and such into the fantasy setting.

Ooohkay, Cylexus. Here's a little something I just cooked up. It's rough around the edges, but it has an Ultramarine getting the bagels beaten out of him.

Calgar strode in the opening, seeing no one but a woman leaning against a dark grey wall. Her posture was too casual for his liking.
“Who are you, heretic?”
“Oh, me? Oh, I’m no one, just a Coalition general and an EXO.” The woman nibbled at her nails, before standing up, eyeing the hulking behemoth of a man.
“Okay, so who the fuck do you think you are, attacking this planet?” A gasp went up from the lines of Ultramarines present, but Calgar took a step forward.
“I am Chapter Master Augustus Marneus Calgar of Ultramarines. You better watch your language with me, wretch, or I shall smite you!”
“Pfft. That was supposed to scare me? But, you at least gave me your name. I’m Lieia Grisova, and I’m here to beat seven shades of shit out of you and then wipe the ground with you.” More gasps of shock from the Ultramarines, and Calgar was already turning red at her insolence.
“You? I could slay you without even using my weapons! Well, then! Let us see if you can owe up to your words!”
“I’m game, boyo. Let’s go mano a mano, then.” She turned around, and Calgar realised something. The wall she was leaning against wasn’t a wall. It was a huge suit of armour. And the insolent general was climbing in it. She activated it, turning around and smiling as the canopy shut.
“Let’s see how tough you are, then.” She picked up a huge slab of concrete, hurling it at the surprised Calgar. He avoided it, but was shocked at the ease she used the suit. Shaking off the surprise, he charged forwards, hefting his power sword.
“FOR GUILLIMAN!” Lieia tensed up, just as the sword plunged deep into one of the arms.
“For Girlyman? What sort of a war cry is that?” She grasped the sizzling blade, wrenching it free. Calgar watched with a sort of fascinated horror as the tear he had inflicted in the armour plating healed itself. He looked at Lieia, who grinned savagely in return.
“My turn, asshole.” She broke the blade in two, and then delivered a solid kick to his crotchplate.
“OOOPH!” He groaned, falling to his knees.
“Have you no honour?” He squeaked, grabbing at his groin.
“Well, now that you ask it, no, I don’t. It’s why I’m winning.” She grabbed him by shoulders, hefting him high in the air, and then threw him at the gathered Ultramarines.

He made a pretty good bowling ball, all things considered. He flattened three of his own soldiers before coming to a stop. Lieia strode after him, cold fury filling her voice.
“Do you even know how long we’ve had peace?” She kicked him in ribs, but his armour saved him from any damage.
“I do not care, heretic!” She snarled, dragging him away by his legs, and tore one of the mechanic limbs off, hefting it above her, and brought it down heavily on Calgar’s struggling form.
SLAM
“FIVE YEARS! We had peace for five years and then you bastards show up!”
SLAM
“I got married!”
SLAM
“I started a family!”
SLAM
“I even got lucky enough to have a daughter!”
SLAM
SLAM
SLAM
She tossed the mangled limb aside, tearing off his other leg.
“And then you bastards show up and wreck it all for me! I though I could actually retire from Marine Corps and live the rest of my life without another fucking war! But nooo, you though it was a good idea to murder half a million innocent people!”
“I f-fight for the Emperor, vile h-heretic!”
“FUCK THE EMPEROR!” She tossed the leg aside, tearing off his right arm, and resumed her beating. The rest of the Ultramarines watched, frozen by the humiliating sight of their Chapter Master getting pummelled by the berserking woman.
Once she was finished, she stood up, panting heavily, dragging him by his remaining arm, digging deep trenches with his armoured bulk, then threw him as far as she could.
“Next time, bring someone who can fight worth shit.” She retreated in the smoke, vanishing from sight in moments.

What was that? It didnt really make sense.

Who was this woman and what was her suit of Armour? Why didnt the Space Marines just shoot her? Ultramarines are prized for not even raising an eyebrow at absurd situations - Just take a look at the Space Marine game. No matter what happens the squad, apart from when *Spoiler Alert* The Veteran Sargeant is killed, and even then they take it in their stride and keep going. I dont think a whole Unit would give out a gasp at a bit of foul lanquage.

And Calgar? As in Marneus Calgar who ripped a Carnifex apart?

Well, the woman was Lee, or Lieia. A veteran of wars. Her Seven-Ten is half as taller than Marny. And most run of the mill humans are intimidated by Marines, but she's seen worse. She even got posessed once by a Doom Harvester. The experience... is not pleasant. Most are unlucky to be turned into mere husks of their former selves. They wander around, seeking out life and consuming it. The lucky ones die outright. As it is, she was never the same once she got rid of the parasite. She doesn't feel intimidated by Marines. Her life got turned upside down after only five years of peace. If anything, she's more angry than scared.

The suit of armour, Seven-Ten, is one of the most advanced pieces of tech Coalition has. Self-repairing, very tough, has big guns, made for extended campaigns. They're so expensive that there are only about two hundred of them. Nearly wrecked Coalition's economy, too, but they paid off.

Lieia doesn't play fair, either. She never does, and I'm inclined to think Marines are sticklers for honourable conduct, especially Ultramarines, and they'd be surprised when she kicked Marny in balls, not even giving him a chance to retaliate. She is not a good person. She turned one Coalition marine in for smuggling drugs. Some time later, he tries to assassinate her. She rips off his arm, shoves it down his throat, snaps his neck and dumps the poor sod in a waste incinerator.

Oh its from your fanfic then? Well thats cool then.

Ultramarines dont fight fair or honourably, they follow the Codex which has a wide variety of responces for battlefield situations. If there commander was attacked they would all attack at once. The sight of their commander getting beaten to a pulp by a suppierer enemy wouldnt make them hesitate it would make them fight even harder.

What is a Doom Harvester?
